Cedar Park & Leander Event Guide: 12 things to do in March, April

Looking for something to do in your community? In March and April there are many local events to enjoy with friends and family.
Events in March
March 24: Enjoy game night
The Leander Parks and Recreation Department hosts Adult Night at Mason Heritage Days, an evening of games, food and tours of historic homes. The event includes two rounds of trivia and a tour.
March 25: Take a historical house tour
Mason Heritage Days offer food, fun and a local history lesson, as well as historic home tours at Leander’s Mason Homestead. Attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy pioneering demonstrations of ropes, branding, candle making, plants and other skills.
March 25: Shop for prom clothes
Leander ISD PTA Clothes Closet is hosting its Prom Attire event where shoppers can get clothes for free. Prom wear, including suits, dresses, shoes and accessories, will be available to students of all genders residing within LISD boundaries. A personal shopper is provided for students during the designated shopping time and they have the opportunity to try on the clothes.
March 25: Dance at a Holi festival
The Barse Holi Rain Dance rank includes Indian food, Bollywood dance performances, a live DJ and a dhol player. The festival will also have the famous Holi rain dance, in which powdered paint and colored water are thrown into the air, often as a celebration of spring or new life.
March 31: Attend a Texas Country concert
Austin-based singer-songwriter Steph Cash will perform at Wild West Cedar Park. Cash and her band, the Steph Cash Band, released their debut album Where I’ve Been on January 23rd.

March 31 – April 1: Watch a barbecue cook-off
The Cedar Park Chamber of Commerce will host the 2023 Cedar Fest BBQ Cook-Off at Elizabeth Milburn Park. The first 70 teams will enter the competition and on March 31st they will prepare for the competition that will take place on April 1st. Cook-off categories include brisket, chicken, pork, and pork ribs. The event also features rides, games, food trucks, booths and other activities.
Events in April
April 1st: Do spring cleaning
Local residents can turn in their non-hazardous waste at Leander’s spring cleaning event, hosted at the Leander Public Works Department. Acceptable items include paper documents for on-site shredding, up to four vehicle tires no larger than 20 inches, car batteries, furniture, lumber, brushes and other related items. To participate, residents must bring a copy of their Leander utility bill and driver’s license with the same address listed on both.
April 2nd: Take the kids egg hunt
The City of Leander hosts its Eggstravaganza at Benbrook Ranch Park. The city will distribute over 30,000 eggs across five different egg hunts. Participants have the opportunity to scoop candies and toy eggs. Depending on the age group, the egg hunt takes place on five different fields at different times.
April 12: Donate blood
In partnership with the American Red Cross, Queen of Hearts CPR will host a blood drive. Each liter of blood donated can help up to three people, and the organization’s goal is to receive 50 liters of blood donations. Participants are encouraged to be well hydrated and eat a good breakfast before donating.
April 15: Attend the Mini-Con
Cedar Park Public Library will host their Mini-Con, which will include a cosplay contest, video games, crafts, a character creation workshop, panel discussions, vendors, and other activities.
April 15: Enjoy a car show
Leander High School will host their Air Force JROTC TX-20007 3rd Annual Car Show, which will feature unique vehicles, vendors, a silent auction, music, a raffle and children’s activities. All proceeds from the event benefit the school’s AFJROTC program.
April 26-30: See Disney On Ice
Disney On Ice will bring its Frozen & Encanto Tour to the HEB Center, featuring live performances by Anna, Elsa and Mirabel, as well as fan favorites Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy and more. The performance encourages audiences to sing along to favorite songs while embracing ice skating, aerial acrobatics and more.
