Mecosta County Genealogical Society: 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. on the second Saturday of the month, 424 N. Fourth Ave., Big Rapids, next to Recycle, or by appointment. Reed City Heritage Museum: Open Friday through Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at 138 W. Slosson Ave., Reed City. Free admission. Groups are welcome.
Mecosta County Sheriff Posse: Second Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the basement classroom at the Mecosta County Jail at 225 S. Stewart Ave. Big rapids. This volunteer group is always looking for more members. Call 231-250-9241 for more information

Art After School: Wednesdays 3:45-5:15pm for 7-13 year olds. Drop-ins are welcome on a first come, first served basis, but we highly recommend calling our gift shop to pre-register: 231-796-2420. Open Pottery: 5pm-8pm on Tuesdays. Cost: $10 per session, $60 for an eight-session punch card. (Additional firing fees apply. Clay can be purchased in bulk for $20 per 25 pounds.) Call 231-796-2420 to schedule your session.
